Gail Cayetano Classick is a businesswoman, entrepreneur and investor, currently operating as the CEO of partnership marketing agency Shop Talk Los Angeles, which she founded in 2011 and that serves brand clients including Hasbro, Sony Pictures Entertainment, Electronic Arts, FabFitFun and NOWwith. In 2019 Shop Talk LA acquired Edible San Luis Obispo Magazine, the culinary print publication that is a part of the Edible Communities network of publications in over eighty markets across the US and Canada, and winner of a James Beard Foundation Award in Journalism. In 2021 Shop Talk LA launched a second magazine in its portfolio, travel experiences publication Big Wide World, that allows us all to open our eyes to the way we connect and see the world. Gail sits on the Board of Directors for the Foundation at Hearst Castle.
In 2013, Gail and co-producer Meg Sette developed The Heart Series, now recognized as one of the premiere annual business conferences for the socially conscious business community. Gail also served as the first chairperson of the Children’s Miracle Network’s Extra Life fundraiser, which has raised over $70 million to date for sick and injured kids.
Earlier in her career Gail co-founded and oversaw business development for entertainment event marketing firm Starfish Creative Events, and perhaps one of her most treasured projects to date, founded women’s statement jewelry line Cayetano Legacy Collection alongside her two sisters. The company works with underprivileged women in the beautiful yet still third world country of the Philippines (the country that has given the sisters their heritage), to source and handcraft each product, enabling both the creation of jobs and economic growth in a part of the world where it is still most needed. The line can be found in Bloomingdales, on Zappos, and in dozens of boutiques within the continental US. Her career began working for Fortune 500 entertainment companies Activision Blizzard and Konami Digital Entertainment.
Gail is the recipient of a Stevie Award for Best Young Entrepreneur, and in 2010 was named to the Los Angeles Business Journal’s Top 20 in their Twenties list. She and her work have been featured in publications such as Fast Company, Forbes, Huffington Post and Inc Magazine. Gail speaks at colleges and universities across the country, most recently at University of Southern California, University of San Diego, Boston University and University of California Los Angeles lecturing on key topics of entrepreneurship, business development and mass media.
After living in Los Angeles for all of her adult life, she recently moved to wine country in the Central Coast area of California with her husband and two young children. She is a Filipina-American, born and raised in New Jersey.
Gail holds a BS degree from Boston University’s College of Communication.
